Eufrasia S. Benavides

She was born on 1927 in Beeville and moved to Corpus Christi, Texas at 17 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband Jose M. Benavides in 1999, son Rogelio “Roger” Benavides in 1989 and great grandson Joe Homer “Joey” Benavides III in 2013.

Survivors are: one son Joe Homer Benavides (Gracie) of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Sulema Urias (Robert) and Gloria Medina (John) all of Corpus Christi; one sister Ofelia Cantu; one brother Enrique Sanchez both of Corpus Christi; eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

In her younger years she was a seamstress. She loved to cook and spend time at the ranch. She was the happiest with family around her. She went into a well-deserved retirement after 25 years at her job.

Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
