Eugenio G Hernandez Sr.

Eugenio G. Hernandez , Sr., 82 went home to be with our Heavenly Father, Tuesday, August 07, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 6, 1930 in Sarita, Texas to Pedro and Teresita Hernandez. As a young man he worked as a cowboy on the Kennedy Ranch. Some years later he moved to Corpus Christi and worked for the City of Corpus Christi Street Department for 26 years until his retirement.

He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grand- father; he will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Maria Raquel Hernandez, his five children Janie (Israel) Olmeda, Calletana Muniz, Christina Hernandez of San Antonio, Luis Muniz, and Eugenio (Kimberly) Hernandez Jr. He is also survived by his grand-children Erica (Gilbert) Camacho, Scott Olmeda, Krystal Rae Gonzales, Candice (Joe) Muniz- Ferry, John G. Muniz, Karissa Muniz, Joshua Ruiz, Eugenio (Mia) J. Hernandez lll, Trino J. Hernandez, Alexander Montano, 10 great grand- children and numerous nieces and nephews. Eugenio was also survived by his three sisters Herlinda (Jerry) Urbina of Sarita, Texas, Maria Kepford of Long Beach California, Olga (Jesse) Castillo of San Diego, Texas.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Jude Aririguzo, Dr. Richard Hinojosa, Dr. Rajeev Narang, and Dr. Carlos Everett. Also, All Staff at Fresenius Dialysis Clinic at Carmel Village (especially Marilyn), Del Cielo Home Health (especially Francine), Odyssey Hospice, Dubuis Hospital, and Advance E.M.S.

The family also wishes to acknowledge the relationship that Eugenio had with his daughter in-law Kimberly “Kiki” who cared for him daily throughout his illness. The relationship they shared was that of love, laughter, and him just giving her a hard time because he loved her.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
