

Evangelina’s entire life was clothed with her constant faith in the Lord, love and dedication to her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife, and most of all a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She enjoyed working on her yard, crocheting, playing her guitar and most of all cooking for her family and friends. Evangelina graduated from Corpus Christi High School (Roy Miller) class of 1950 and married her high school sweetheart, Noe Valverde. Evangelina worked at Christus Spohn Hospital, City of Corpus Christi Police Department, Sacred Heart School cafeteria and Corpus Christi Independent School District. She was a member of Woodmen of the World, St. Anne’s and was also an Usher at Corpus Christi Cathedral for many years.
Evangelina is preceded in death by her husband, Noe Valverde Sr.; three sons, Daniel, Jose Luis and Ricardo; granddaughter, Donelia Inez Valverde; her parents, Alfred and Esperanza Grande; two brothers, Arturo, Daniel Grande and one sister, Maria Guadalupe G. Martinez.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her three sons, Juan, Noe Jr., and David Valverde; two daughters, Mary Helen Flores (Jesse) and Mary Ann Valverde-Gomez (Armando Jr.); 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David, Daniel, Shane, Daniel Valverde, Juan Barboza Jr. and Andy Vasquez IV. Honorary Pallbearer will be Juan Ismael Valverde.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St. on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be held at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1322 Comanche St., on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St.
