Fannie Lee Pettus Hoskins (Madear) beloved Mother, grandmother and great grandmother peacefully went home to Glory at her residence surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
On Monday, January 26, 1925, in Goliad, Texas, the Lord Blessed us with our Mother Fannie Lee Pettus. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Graduated from Goliad High School in 1943 and moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1953. She united with Friendship Baptist Church for years, later True Faith Baptist Church, and at her time of passing she had united with Restoration Fellowship.
She was a hard worker in her community, did volunteer work for Nueces County with Senior Citizens, was Captain of her Neighborhood on Watch for eleven year.
Ms. Fannie (Madear) was vibrant, loved life, she knew everyone and everyone knew her. The Dallas Cowboys was her passion.
She retired after working numerous years in a private home and still considered the family as family and they consider her as family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Hoskins; daughter, Debra Claire Martin King; granddaughters, Michelle Green and Le'awna Coleman; grandson, James Mosley; mother Mittie B. Lott; sisters, Lillie M. Grant and Novela Roberts; brothers Charles Dukes and James Lott.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son John Lewis Wimbish of Houston, Texas; three daughters Jacqueline H. (Jackie) Green and Joan C. (Connie) Coleman of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Sheila L. Greathouse of Denver Colorado. One sister Ora L. Littles of Goliad, Texas; three grandsons Brian O. Green and Damian R. Tabor of Corpus Christi, Texas; Alvin L. Green Hamilton of California; Twelve great grandchildren Keara, Kariyah, Brayin, Ivan, Alvin, Kalyn, Asia, Jason, Gavin, Daxton, Ayana Tabor and Trinity Tabor. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. that same afternoon. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
