

Faustino C. Garcia Jr. age 83 quietly passed away on September 6, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Faustino was born on October 14, 1940, in Corpus Christi, TX to Faustino and Felicitas of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. His birth mother passed away at the age of twenty, and Faustino remarried Josefina. Faustino Jr. attended Miller High School. Upon graduating from high school, he briefly attended Del Mar College. Deciding to join the US Army instead of continuing his education, he was a decorated specialist E4. He earned a good conduct medal as well as a sharpshooter badge.
After concluding his commitment to the US Armed Forces, he returned to Corpus Christi. He married his high school sweetheart Maria Esther Torres on June 21, 1964. Their union produced six children; John Paul, Faustino III, Rosario Imelda, Laura, Veronica, and Roxanna. He was unfortunately widowed, the result of house fire on February 20,1978.
After the devastating accident, he devoted himself to his surviving children, John Paul and Laura. A second marriage resulted in a daughter, Monica. Her mother is ex wife Yolanda Garcia.
Faustino spent the majority of his career in transportation, earning a commercial drivers license in 1973. He loved the open road and appreciated the responsibility of commanding big rigs. He spent his retirement years living close to his beloved children and grandchildren. An avid reader and life long tinkerer, he surrounded himself with books and small engines. Engine repair is one of the many skills he developed in the army.
Faustino Jr. is survived by beloved son John Paul Garcia and wife Eva; Laura and husband Arcadio Padilla, and Monica Cervantes and husband Joel Palacios. He leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Jacqueline Cervantes, Andres Padilla, Juliana Padilla, Isabella Palacios, and Matthew Palacios. He also leaves behind one great grandson, Thomas Padilla.
