

Felipa M. Castillo passed away on November 5, 2012 at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 20, 1928 in Houston, Texas to Enrique Martinez and Felipa Gutierrez. Her family owned a boarding home in Houston and lived there until the Great Depression when her family relocated back to Monterrey, NL. She was very active in the “Accion Catolica” for many years and cared for both her parents. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1965 when she married Eugenio G. Castillo. She was a devout catholic and strongly believed in the power of prayer. Felipa was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago. She will be dearly missed by all her family, friends and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugenio G. Castillo; parents, Enrique and Felipa Martinez; brother and sister-in-laws, Jose Guajardo Rios, Timoteo Castillo, Juan Castillo, Andres Castillo, Celia Dominquez, Mary Helen Perez, Tomas Castillo, and Julia Galaviz.
Felipa leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughter, Gloria E. Castillo Mendez (Amado O. III); sons, Eugenio E. Castillo (Jo Elda), Hector L. Castillo (Jessica), Ricardo J. Castillo; Juan Antonio Ramos who is a very special part of the family; grandchildren, Laura Elena, Ana Maribel, Adriana Catarina, Julia Rebeca, Katherine Simone, Paul Michael, James Edward, John Richard, Victoria Marie, Marc Anthony and David Matthew. Also surviving her is her sister, Maria Elena Martinez de Guajardo and numerous nieces and nephews that she helped raise as if her own in Monterrey, N. L. Mexico. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Jose C. Castillo (Mary Sue) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday November 8, 2012 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
