

Fernando G. “Bo” Balboa, 62, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010. He was born on September 8, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born to Francisco C. Balboa and Juanita Garza Balboa. He was a graduate of Roy Miller High School and later joined the Armed Forces. He worked at the Federal Courthouse for 15 years as the only male switchboard operator for the Federal Government he also was a former employee with the USDA Cotton Division for 3 years. He was a current employee with the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station for 21 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Juanita Balboa and brother, Frank, Jr.
Fernando is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elsa Aguirre Balboa of Corpus Christi; son, Allen Balboa (Cathy); son, Ricardo Villarreal (Melissa); daughter, Janie Balboa Moreno (Richard), daughter-in-law Tisha Gamboa (Chris); 10 grandchildren: Sarah, Jermin, Valerie, Sarah, David, “The Twins” Fernando and Miguel, Jordan, Justice and Roman Orion, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Concepcion B. Rodriguez, Gloria B. Tanguma, Anna B. Mendez, Angel B. Cullins (Virgil), Rebecca B. Lopez (David), Jahida Balboa (Gilbert) and brothers: John G. Balboa, Danny G. Balboa and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Special thanks to friends of numerous years Richard and Pat Garza and family. Also, are very good friends of the family Jeanette and Daniel Esquivel. The family wishes to extend special thanks to co-workers from C-CAD, Christus Spohn Memorial Employees, ER, ICU-1, Second and Fifth Floor, also to Christus Spohn Hospice.
He was very loved by many as a father, grand-father and uncle to most. He was also a #1 Fan of the Dallas cowboys.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
