

Fernando Jose Herrera, 80, entered Heaven’s gates on February 26, 2025. He was born on November 18, 1944, to the late Fernando R Herrera and Alicia Garza Herrera in San Antonio, Texas. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Mary Lou Herrera, and together, they created an incredible family.
A man of many passions, Fernando enjoyed playing poker, watching wrestling, and barbecuing. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs with enthusiasm. To his beloved grandchildren, he was affectionately known as "Popo," a name that captured the love and warmth he shared with them.
Fernando had a successful career as a truck driver, but his true legacy lies in the love and kindness he showed to his family and friends. He was a thoughtful, caring, and loving father, grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his big heart, his sense of humor, and his unwavering love for his family.
Fernando is reunited with his beloved wife, Mary Lou Herrera; parents, Fernando R Herrera and Alicia Garza Herrera; and his sister Melva Macias.
Left to cherish his memories are Daughter, Cynthia Delgadillo (Ruben); Patricia Herrera(Jason); Christina Aguilar (Tony); And Fernando Herrera Jr.
A visitation for Fernando will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 5:00pm-9:00pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm by Deacon Adelfino Palacios, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Corpus Christi Cathedral on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 10:00am with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
