Jerry was born August 9, 1960 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Guadalupe and Rosalina Garza. He attended Christ the King in his primary years. He graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1978. Jerry had an exceptional career at the NAS Fire Department, where he retired as an Assistant Chief after 31 years. Jerry also used his passion for music for all Celebratory Events in his part-time business, “Jerry and Jo Ann’s Party Box.”
Jerry enjoyed having barbeques with friends and family. He was the life of the party and genuinely enjoyed making others smile with laughter. Jerry also enjoyed playing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Garza; his Father, Guadalupe Garza; his two sons, Jerry (Diana) Garza, Jr. and John M. (Monica) Garza; and his daughter, Lori J. (Mike) Garza and his step-daughter, Dara (Robert) Silva; his 15 grandchildren; his 3 brothers and 2 sisters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalina Garza.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 starting at 3:30 PM with Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
