She was a member of the Greater Shiloh Church of God in Christ. Gertrude was a housekeeper for many years and also an Evangelist Missionary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Minnie Hyder; her husband, L.C. Haywood and on great-granddaughter, Ruby Moses.
Gertrude is survived by her son, Rev Daniel Roberson of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, Dietri Spears, Adrienne Alexander, Dannell Hanks, Denny Roberson, Johanna Thompson Roberson and a special adopted daughter, Carolyn Wilson; niece, Cella Boyd. Also surviving her are 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Greater Shiloh Church of God in Christ, 1909 Cliff Maus Drive. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
