He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Lydia (Lily) Perez.
Gilbert was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching football.
Gilbert is survived by his father; three children; three brothers; three sisters; his grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Funeraria del Angel Chapel, 549 Cheyenne Street, with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Services will then conclude.
