Gregorio Sauceda

Gregorio “Goyo” Sauceda, lovingly known to many as “Popeye,” passed away at the age of 82. He was born on April 14, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he spent much of his life surrounded by familiar faces and a community he cherished.

Goyo was known for his love of Popeye and for enjoying the company of people who truly cared for him. He had a special joy for being around others and found happiness in simple moments, laughter, and connection. One of the places closest to his heart was the Corpus Christi Adult Day Care Center, where he enjoyed spending his time and being part of a caring community.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alberta Riojas Fuentes and Santiago Soto Fuentes, his sister Rosa Riojas Cristobal, and his brothers, Able Fuentes and Jose Guadalupe Sauceda.

Gregorio is survived by his brother, Jesse Fuentes, and his sister-in-law, Linda Fuentes, who will forever cherish his memory and the love he brought into their lives.

Goyo will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his affection for those around him, and the joy he felt when surrounded by love. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and cared for him.
