Guillermo H. Martinez

Guillerma (Mema) H. Martinez, age 88, went to be with our Lord Savior on March 17, 2011 after a short illness. She was surrounded by her family that will miss her dearly. She was born March 10, 1923 to Samuel and Jacinta Hinojosa. She was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Mema was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Rodolfo L. Martinez, her parents and her sister, Frances Montez.

She is survived by eight children; her sons, Rudy H. Jr.(Eliza), Roland H. Sr.(Rosemary), Samuel H, Richard H. (Judy A.) and Reynaldo H. Martinez all of Corpus Christi; her daughters, Mary Jane (the late Ramon G. Rodriguez), Gloria M. Sanchez and Dolores M. (Gilbert) Briseño all of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Spohn Memorial 5th floor, Trisun Rehabilitation Center, Interim Health Care and Nurses on Wheels-Hospice.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Rudy Edward Martinez, Ramon Rodriguez, Jr., Roland Martinez, Jr., Oscar Sanchez, Jr., Jesse Castillo, Jr., Christopher P. Martinez and Sammy Martinez, Jr.

The family will be receiving family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
