

Hector Richard “Dickie” Rodriguez, 41, beloved son of Dahlia and George Rodriguez, passed away suddenly at his home December 10, 2011. To those close to him, Hector Richard was loving, known as "Dickie" for the constant smile on his face and willingness to help anyone. Dickie is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather George M. Rodriguez; his maternal grandfather, Rodolfo Romero, Sr.; and uncles, Armando Romero, Sr. and Michael Rodriguez.
Surviving are his parents: Dahlia Romero and George Rodriguez; children: Richard Paul Rodriguez, Krista Rubio, Brittany Rodriguez, and Courtney Rodriguez; siblings: Katherine (John) Munguia, and George Anthony Rodriguez; grandmothers: Mrs. Eva Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs. Amelia Romero of Corpus Christi, Texas. Dickie was blessed with the love of his aunt and many uncles, nieces, nephews, and countless friends he had throughout his life.
Dickie honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and was in service during Desert Storm. Prior to his passing Dickie was employed by H.E.B. He will be fondly remembered as a man who was committed to and deeply loved his family. It was said that when Dickie was with family, his heart grew 10 times, as they were the center of his world. Whatever role God gave Dickie in life, he proved his love for God, Family and Country by faithfully fulfilling his duties and responsibilities.
Services celebrating Dickie's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, followed by visitation at 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Coastal Bend Veteran’s Cemetery, 9974 IH 37Access Road.
