Hector E. Vera, 88, was born on December 14, 1932, in San Diego, Texas. He passed on April 8, 2021.

He retired from Army Depot after several years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Vera and Aurora Vera; brothers, Richard Vera, Raymond Vera, Pedro Vera Jr.; sisters, Lucia Vera, Lydia Fernandez, and daughter, Denise Esquivel.

Hector is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Vera; sister, Lilia Segovia; sons, Hector Vera (Debbie) Darren Vera (Nadia) Dalbert Vera (Anna); daughter, Dana Vera. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

A special “Thanks” to New Century Hospice, his nurse Natalie Burch, and Melissa Leal.

Our angel on earth is now an angel in heaven…

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, Texas, on Monday, April 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with a Chapel Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at 2:00pm, Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery 9974-I-37, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.

I remember going to babysit n driving up and there were 10 German Shepards all around the car. Tio Hector n the boys had to come out and put the dogs in the back yard. I remember going to Tio Esiquios n Tua Luisa's house on the weekend. Tio Hector n Aunt Sylvia, our Family Just with all the kids & us. It was a Party. Great Memories.

To my father in law.....thank you for accepting me into your family all those years ago!!! There was not a day that you didn't do what you could to help us whether it be advice or your helping hand, and for that I will truly always be grateful! I love the picture below in one of these memories of you watching Brandon as he played outside❤ we will always love you as my father in law, and my kids grandfather💙❤ Rest In Peace and enjoy the time with Denise and all your loved ones who have passed away....until we all meet again🙏🥰

Many many memories Hector has left behind, he lived life to the fullest, he loved partying, dancing and having a good time.. remember the many times he and Sylvia would come to Hitchcock and LaMarque for many occasions. He was a soft spoken man but left an imprint on so many life’s. You will truly be missed. Love you bunches Hector, Rest In Peace..🕊🕊
