Herbert E. Morton

Herbert E. Morton, 17, of Corpus Christi passed away February 13, 2020. He was born in Chesapeake, VA on November 18, 2002. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Ritenour; grandfather, Edward C. Morton, Sr., and uncle, Edward C. Morton, Jr. He is survived by his adopted mother/grandmother, Rena M. Morton; his son, Josiah Garza; brothers, Michael Morton and Dewayne; sisters, Rena E. Morton, Elizabeth Gaza, Crystal, and Skylynn; his aunt, Gina Morton; his birth mother, Patricia Gaza and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was known to many as Herbie the Love Bug, a name given to him by his uncle Bill. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed skateboarding, football, Boy Scouts, and spending time with the brother Michael, his sister Rena and his cousins. He became a father just 7 months ago, but love his son Josiah very much and enjoyed spending time with him and his girlfriend Jasaida. Pallbearers will be Michael Morton, Jacob Morton, Jared Grigsby, Joshua Flores, Steven Garcia, William Gladwell, Isiah Jimenez, Steve Ramirez and Joey Sedallez. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11:00 am followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78415. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
