He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1968 to 1971. He was hired by Corpus Christi Army Depot in 1973. While working for CCAD he completed and received an Associates Degree in Computer Science in 1998. In 2001 he retired from CCAD but returned to work as a contractor until May 2014.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 40 years, Dolores; two daughters, Irosema Salinas De Leon (Rene) and Inez Rodriguez (Leonard); granddaughter, Anna and grandson, Javier.
He is also survived by a sister, Veronica Gutierrez (Jaime Gonzalez) and brothers, Juan Salinas (Maria) and Arturo Salinas (Erin).
A holy mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
