

Denise is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Julian Reyna, who she was married to for 30 years; her son, Jonathan Reyna; brother, Frank Reyna III (Norma); sister, Mary Jane Reyna; nephews, Eric and Austin Flores; sister-in-law, Melisa Reyna and an incredible circle of extended family and friends. She left many fond memories for her family and friends to carry with them in their hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Reyna Sr and Ofilia Reyna and her brother, Roland S. Reyna.
Denise graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1989 and then went on to study at Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary studies and later earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling.
Denise went on to work for the Corpus Christi ISD where she was employed at Yeager Elementary for the past 30 plus years. She was passionate about working with children where she was an advocate for student’s needs and was there to ensure every student that crossed her path had the resources to become successful. She was a classroom teacher for 18 years where she made it her mission to make sure every student that left her classroom was a better person because they had her as a teacher. She had a profound impact on the lives of many students. However, her true passion was in the field of counseling where she spent the last 13 years of her career. She will be remembered for her kindness, empathy, creativity, and compassion when working with students. She truly made a difference in the lives of students. Denise left a lasting, positive impact on everyone she met.
She had a passion for spending time with her husband and son. They loved the outdoors and would go on long walks, camping, fishing, singing and dancing on road trips and anything as long as they were spending time together. She loved to travel with close friends and could make anyone in her presence laugh. She will truly be remembered for her infectious laugh and humor.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31,2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78415 with the holy rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with the committal to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
