Ireneo "Rene" J. Hinojosa

He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ireneo was an avid Cowboys fan who loved to fish and spend time on his ranch. He was employed by HEB maintenance for 30 years and then employed by Neighborhood Centers of Corpus Christi for 20 years.

Ireneo is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Antonia Garcia and Elena Hinojosa and son-in-law, Nicanor Perales.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Maria Hinojosa; children, Robert (Olga) Hinojosa, Irene (Israel) Leal, Isabel (Rick) Marroquin, Irma Perales, Inez (Sammy) Pena, Ramiro Hinojosa, Imelda Sanchez and Rene (Kathy) Hinojosa; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Apolinar (Viola) Hinojosa, Ramon Hinojosa, Lucia Betancourt, Bernarda (Patricio) Acosta, Juan (Irma) Hinojosa, Margie (David) Delgado, Leonel (Grace) Hinojosa, Leonardo (Margie) Hinojosa, Alfredo (Mary) Hinojosa, Gloria (Juan) Lerma, Sylvia (Ricky) Smith and Joanna Marie Hinojosa; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and many other relatives.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Mission, 1080 S. Clarkwood Rd., Corpus Christi, TX. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
