She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Theo Warren Freasier, Sr. and is survived by her sons Theo Warren Freasier, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Louis Curtis Freasier (Cindy Zimmerman Freasier) of George West, Texas; her sister Pauline Carey (Bobby Carey) of College Station, Texas; granddaughters Stacie Michelle Freasier (Nabil Ezzarhouni) of Boston, Massachusetts, and Hayley D’Lynn Freasier (Jason Palmer) of Johnson City, Tennessee; and great-grandson Rumi Ezzarhouni Freasier of Boston, Massachusetts.
Ivy Jean went to Durham’s Business College in Corpus Christi and then worked as a secretary in the real estate department with HEB Grocery Company from 1968 until 1985.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was always ready to help out in whatever capacity needed, serving on the altar guild, working in the office or sewing quilts for people in need.
Ivy Jean was a true servant. Her door was always open to people. Many a person found comfort within the walls of her house. She was deeply empathetic to the underdog, the downtrodden, the misfit, the outsider. She loved to provide comfort and strength to those in need.
She loved music and enjoyed dancing. Her home was always filled with it, be it old country records playing or living room guitar picking sessions.
Ivy Jean was proud of her family and German heritage, and her legacy will live on through her surviving family.
