James was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He met and married his wife of 69 years, Elma Jackson, in Australia during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elma Jackson; daughters, Jacqueline Sue Jackson and Barbara Faye Odom; son, James Loyd Jackson; his parents, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
James is survived by his daughter, Beverly Ann Moorhead, 4 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandsons.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a Graveside Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
