In 1967, Brother Buddy became pastor of Southcrest Baptist Church in Corpus Christi at age 35 and was still actively preaching until he passed away. He was a beloved pastor, had a servant's heart and love for all people. Buddy had a passion for soul winning and impacted many lives during his ministry. He authored multiple books and publications that have been translated and distributed across many countries.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carole; his three sons: Tom Murphrey (Getty), John Murphrey, Tim Murphrey (Andrea), and his daughter, Helen Murphrey.
