

Virginia. Mr. Rhodes proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Navy after twenty years then worked for Corpus Christi Army Depot for another twenty-eight years. He was a hero to his family and friends, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Edith Rhodes.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Rhodes of 20 years; his children, Cheryl Ann Rhodes, Jamesa Ann (Oscar) Weaver, Sarah Ilene Rhodes and James Ernest (Noemi) Rhodes all of Corpus Christi; stepchildren, Rick (Traci) Allan and Jerry (Cathy) Allan of Corpus Christi, Greg Allan of San Antonio, Rex Allan of Corpus Christi and Mitchell (Lucy) Allan of San Antonio; grandson, Troy Weaver and numerous other grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m.,Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Covenant Baptist Church, 7001 Williams with Pastor Ralph Willis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr.Rhodes name to the American Cancer Society.
