May 16, 1957 – September 29, 2026
Jeanne “Gigi” Marie Wilmot, age 69, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026. She was born in Brownsville, Texas, on May 16, 1957, to Stanley and Margarita Arne.
Jeanne graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1975. On May 13, 1979, she married the love of her life, Gary R. Wilmot, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and devotion to one another.
Jeanne worked as a pharmacy technician until her retirement in August 2008. She unselfishly stepped away from her career early to embrace what would become her greatest joy and calling: being a grandmother.
Lovingly given the name “Gigi” by her first grandchild, Jeanne cherished the role with all her heart. Being a Gigi became one of the greatest joys of her life, and she embraced every moment of it wholeheartedly.
Gigi’s greatest passion was being there for her grandchildren. Whether sitting in the bleachers at basketball, football, or baseball games, she never missed an opportunity to cheer them on and lovingly “coach” from the stands. She celebrated every accomplishment, encouraged them through every challenge, and made sure they always knew how proud she was of them.
Gigi was their biggest cheerleader, their constant supporter, and a grandmother who believed in each of them with her whole heart. Her love, encouragement, laughter, and unwavering presence will remain a treasured part of their lives forever.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Stanley and Margarita Arne.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Gary Ray Wilmot; her children, James Wilmot, Shannon (Adam) Cortez, and Chelsea (Marissa) Barrera; her cherished grandchildren, Aden Cortez, Lane Cortez, Reid Cortez, Bode Barrera, and Carsyn Barrera; and her sister, Patricia Arne. She also leaves behind countless family members and friends who were blessed by her love and friendship.
Jeanne’s greatest legacy will be the love she poured into her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and most of all, a beloved Gigi.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Burial will follow at a later date.
