Jerome was called to the gates of Heaven on Thursday, September 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Jerry was born July 20, 1960 in Laredo TX to the late Arturo Porfirio Dally and Mary Lou Diou Dally. He grew up in Laredo, Del Rio, and Austin, TX and graduated in 1977 from Crockett High School in Austin, TX. Jerry received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2014 from Texas A & M University in Corpus Christi. He enlisted in the Air Force in September 1981 and after 20 years he retired in Corpus Christi, TX October 2001 as a TSGT at the C.C. Naval Base. Jerry was employed by U.S. Marshal Service for 6 years. He also worked for the C.C. Naval Base for 8 years. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Papo), son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Jerry will always be remembered for his love of laughter, sense of adventure, servicing the community, and devotion to his family. He loved playing his drums during mass, retreats, and all events. He enjoyed serving for the Lord in all ministries, and he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved being around family and his silliness was contagious.
Jerry always enjoyed making memories with his loved ones through movie nights filled with popcorn, summer baseball games, dancing to music and running around playing tag with his grandchildren on beautiful park days. Jerry enjoyed spontaneous adventures. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Ann Hernandez Dally, his daughter DeLena Dominique (Jonathan Ryan) Dally Gerac from Clayton, NC, stepdaughter Stephanie Bernice Sanchez Aguirre from Corpus Christi TX, three grandchildren Liam Ryker Gerac, John Luke Gerac, and Laiken Ryleigh Gerac, all from Clayton, NC, three step grandchildren Jasmine Lorae Ortega, Sebastian Louis Aguirre, and Nathaniel Louis Aguirre all from Corpus Christi, TX; four brothers Emile Henri Dally from Grand Prairie TX, Joseph Arthur (Linda) Dally from Brackley, England; Edward Alexander (Dora) Dally from Granbury TX, Mark Anthony Dally from Grand Prairie, TX, two sisters Jo Ann Dally Foster from Grand Prairie, TX, and Frances Ann (Mike) Dally Jackson from Yukon, OK; father in law, Manuel M. Hernandez; two sisters-in-law, Cresencia Patricia (Manuel) Abila Pizana from Corpus Christi, TX, Sandra Joyce (Richard) Hernandez Clark from Hilltop Lake, TX; two brothers-in-law Victor Manuel (Laura) Hernandez from Corpus Christi TX, and Robert Lee (Maggie) Hernandez from Harlingen TX. Jerry had numerous of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm October 21, 2021 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 3513 Cimarron Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX. A Rosary service will be recited at 7:00 pm. with a funeral mass to be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church on October 22, 2021 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 Interstate 37, Corpus Christi, TX (exit 9 Rand Morgan Road).
