
Jerry Baros, 87, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born on March 13, 1926 in Westhoff, Texas to Joe and Francis Baros. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Loraine Baros; brother Joe Jr. and sister Georgie. He is survived by his son, Dennis (Barbara) Baros; stepson, Wayne (Kathy) Frazier; stepdaughter, Patricia Rodgers; brother, Raymond (Pauline) Baros, all of Corpus Christi and grandchildren, Amber Baros, Chris Reeves, Jerri Viken, Kim Lunsford and Joe A. Rodgers. He served his country in the United States Army as a staff sergeant while fighting in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He earned the bronze star and victory ribbon in the Philippine liberation and the good conduct medal while in Japan. His happiest times were fishing, hunting, and sitting on the porch at Jerry’s Place which he owned and operated for ten years. He loved woodworking and spent most weekends after retirement at Mary’s Place selling his crafts. He loved to watch the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys when they won. He also played Bingo at Weber Bingo Hall where he couldn’t wait to get there to be with his friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
