Je'Sani Domeneque Smith

April 3, 2001April 11, 2019

Je’Sani Domeneque Smith was born on April 3, 2001 and gained his heavenly angel wings on Thursday, April 11, 2019 while enjoying time with his friends at the beach. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Je’Sani was born in Charleston, West Virginia and relocated to Corpus Christi in December 2002. He was very active and began running marathons with his mother at the age of 4. He was a Student Star Athlete at Richard King High School and will be remembered for playing football, running track, his love for Spiderman, but most of all, his love for the game of basketball.

He enjoyed playing Call of Duty on his PS4, his gamer tag was jjbeastboy12. He had a natural talent for art. He spent time at the beach and worked as a beach attendant with the City of Corpus Christi in the summer of 2018. He loved to travel, spend time with his friends, and loved to do his own hair. He admired his Subaru car he received as a gift from his mother, and made a hobby out of restoring it. He had a passion for music and dancing, and will always be remembered for being humble, respectful and for wearing a big smile.

Je’Sani had an aspiration to become a racer and engineer with the National Subaru Team. He loved nature, the beach, and was proud to be a native of West Virginia.

He leaves his loving memories to his parents, Kiwana and Terry Denson and Jerome Smith; Siblings: Terrance Denson Jr., Khasaunte Thompson, Jai’den Smith and Nathaniel Smith; Maternal Grandparents: Karen Patterson and William Patterson; Paternal Grandparents: Lenora Smith, Eddie Ray Smith Sr.(Jackie), and Sharon Floyd; Aunts: Otilia Toler (Will), Carlotta Lynch, Monica Patterson, Bionka Patterson, Camille Smith, Ebony Smith, Felicia Smith, Linda Tyler, Laronica Floyd, and Monica Floyd; Uncles: Will Patterson, Dewayne Patterson, Dewane Patterson, Deray Smith, Eddie Ray Smith Jr., Christopher Smith, Antonio Smith, Jermaine Smith, Zoltan Webb; a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, extended family and friends and his pet companion, Blackie.

Kiwana,

While I never had the pleasure of meeting Je'Sani, I can see from pictures of him that he shared his mother's warmth, energy, and sincere love and concern for others. I don't have the words, and I can't imagine what you and your family are going through, but I do know that you are loved by the entire GCGV family. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. May memories of Je'Sani provide you peace and comfort during this impossible time.

Love,
Chrissie

Kiwana & Terry -- you raised a fine man. He did more with his short life than many people do in 80 years.

I will always remember him as a beautiful, quiet, middle schooler who patiently put up with all of us fussing over him whenever Kiwi brought him into the office. I am sure he would have avoided it if he could!

It was an honor to watch him grow and thrive.

My heartfelt prayers for my friends Kiwana, Terry and Terrence. ((((((Hugs)))))

Love

Mary

To the parents of this wonderful person. I never knew of him but with all that has been said and done there is no question to who he really was. This is now where u realize u have the strength to keep moving forward with a broken heart that can never mend. Memories is all u will carry. I want u to know ur not alone. God had other plans for ur son and at any point u think u feel his presence it's TRUE. With that big smile he had in all the pictures I've seen . u need to keep that vision with u because it will remind u of what a wonderful happy son u brought up. Sometimes parents dont get enough credit these days.... but with everything going on and what's being shown on TV ...the school.... the community and all the help....u have done a great job.
As time moves on ur heart does not heal but speaking of ur son and sharing great memories is the best medicine for u. If u ever need to talk or cry a complete stranger is near and ready to help. I lost a child myself and can understand ur feelings and emotions.
Jesani will always be looking over u and will carry u thru hard times. There is nothing wrong with going thru any emtions. You will find peace someday. Sincerely sorry for ur loss.
