Jessica graduated from Gregory Portland High School in 2007 as a three-year graduate. She attended Del Mar College and went on to receive her Texas State License in Welding from Southern Careers Institute in 2020. Jessica developed a passion for welding and loved her career and had been previously employed by Kieweit and Bracken Construction as a welder. Most recently, she worked for Home Depot in Commercial Fulfilment. She had also worked as a maintenance supervisor in property management for several years.
Jessica will be remembered always for her smile and her laughter; she had an undeniable positive outlook on life-always making the best out of what she had. She was kind and selfless, and never hesitated to help out when needed or give her last dollar to someone less fortunate.
She enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and Houston Texans games, as well as fishing, and refurbishing furniture, and she so loved her furry companion, “Olipurr” the cat. Jessica was very active in sports throughout her lifetime, and was especially passionate about basketball, having played on various teams throughout middle and high school, and later played for the Lady Sparks adult league. She also played on multiple baseball (was the only girl on a boys team!), softball, fast-pitch softball, and volleyball teams throughout her school years, including the Lady Eagles Drill Team in elementary school. Fond memories of Jessica include Sail Line fishing in Portland, camping trips, playing poker, and her very special “love you mom”.
Jessica is preceded in death by her grandparents, Randall and Merry Vestal, and Horace and Louise Mutschler; aunt, Marie Hughes; and cousin, Zachary Vestal.
Left to forever cherish her memories are her mother, Melissa Vestal Mutschler (David R. Snyder); father, John Logan Mutschler; brother, Jason (Amanda) Mutschler; half-sister, Melissa Beth Aguirre; niece, Daphne L. Mutschler; great-aunt, Olivia Cook; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Please wear orange (her favorite color) and join the family in sharing memories of Jessica at a visitation and reception on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Event Room, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas.
