July 5, 1987 – May 11, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Joe Damien Magallan, age 37, of Corpus Christi, Texas, who was tragically taken from us and called home on May 11, 2025.
Born on July 5, 1987, to Jose Ines Magallan Jr. (Joey) and Maria Del Rosario Magallan (Mary), and stepfather, Valentin Benavides, Joe Damien was a man full of life, love, and a fire that left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He lived with his whole heart—fiercely loyal, deeply compassionate, and endlessly generous.
Joe Damien found his greatest joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments: time spent with his family, his beloved daughters, and his loyal dog, King. Whether cooking a favorite meal, sharing a laugh, or offering a helping hand, he gave himself freely and without hesitation.
Those who knew Joe Damien knew he could be stubborn and strong-willed, but those qualities made him unforgettable. His strength and boldness were balanced by a tender heart and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. When Joe Damien cared for you, you felt it—without question. His love was steady, fierce, and unconditional.
He had a laugh that could brighten even the darkest room and a smile that made others feel seen, valued, and safe. He didn’t rely on grand gestures to show his love; he showed it in the everyday moments—through his presence, his protection, and his quiet acts of kindness. Joe Damien had a gift for making others feel like they mattered.
He had a deep passion for cars and music, and he loved joking around to bring joy to those around him. He found peace in long walks to clear his mind, and he enjoyed playing golf whenever he could. Recently, he began learning to play the guitar—embracing the challenge with the same heart he brought to everything in life.
He also loved being in the water, especially playing in the swimming pool—laughing and creating lasting memories with his kids and family. Joe Damien was daring and adventurous by nature, always willing to try something new or take a risk just to feel alive. His wild spirit and fearless energy made life with him exciting and unpredictable—in the best possible way.
Joe Damien was the kind of person who would give you his last dollar—or the shirt off his back—if you were in need. His generosity knew no bounds. He never judged anyone for their struggles and always looked out for others, no matter their circumstances.
He is survived by his two daughters, Alexus J. Magallan, Jaiden A. Magallan, and their mother, Alondra Garza; his sister, Erica Delia Torres (Paul); his half-sister, Crystal Riley; his stepsister, Trina Michelle Benavides; and his half-brother, Jose Ines Magallan III (Joey).
He is also survived by his grandmothers, Delia Rios Villarreal and Beatrice Magallan, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ramiro Villarreal and Jose Ines Magallan; and his father, Jose Ines Magallan (Joey) Jr.
Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we are forever grateful for the laughter, the memories, and the immeasurable love he shared. His spirit will live on in every story told, every song played, and every smile sparked in his memory.
Joe Damien Magallan was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed.
