

Christopher graduated from Richard King High School in 1987. He graduated with a B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas and was awarded a B.S. in Pharmacy with honors from the University of Houston. He was a dedicated pharmacist for CVS for many years.
Christopher was a devoted father who spent countless hours commuting to Houston, Texas to visit his son. His love for Chris Jr. was what drove Christopher’s desire to provide his son with vivid life experiences and lessons. These experiences will provide his son with guidance and direction to grow up into the man that his father envisioned for him. Christopher was a proud father who never missed an opportunity to express his love and admiration for his son.
Christopher enjoyed martial arts and sparred on several occasions with two-time World Kickboxing Champion Ronnie “Diamond” Deleon. He also enjoyed weightlifting and was an avid collector of comic books and memorabilia.
He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Michael Anthony Martinez.
He is survived by his son, John Christopher Martinez, Jr.; a brother, John Marcus Martinez (Linda) of Corpus Christi, Texas; parents, Juan (Johnnie) and Rosa Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas; his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.
Family will be receiving friends at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017 with a Memorial Service to begin at 7:00pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi.
