John is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lola M. Nelson; (son, John W. Nelson, Jr. deceased); son, Ivan Bruce (Regina) Nelson; daughters, Sheila (Pastor Garry) Roberts, Sherry Jewel Nelson; 8 eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister, Frankie (Pinkie) Silmon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
