

On January 9, 2012, Jorge Luis Uribe, passed away at his home at the young age of 54. Today we celebrate the life of Jorge Luis Uribe (known to many as George) but there is also another celebration in heaven, because a son has come home. George was born to Anita and the late David Uribe on August 10, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He showed a love for God, family and his country as he proudly served in the United States Army for four years, and after serving his country, he worked for many years at Sam Kane Beef Processors as a security supervisor and later worked at Horton Automatics.
George had a true passion for sports, coaching little league softball and baseball for many years, but enjoyed watching his favorite teams the Houston Texans and Houston Astros. He also had a passion for cooking, as he perfected many Bar-B-Que and dinner meals followed by his mastery of baking many pastries. George also enjoyed carpentry and the outdoors as he continued the traditions of his father’s camping venues.
He is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Anita Uribe, sons, Arthur (Laura) Aguilar and George Edward (Jenna) Uribe, sister and brothers, Sylvia Garza, Juan (Anna) Uribe, David (Juanie) Uribe, Oscar (Yolanda) Uribe, Sr., grandchildren, Aaron Arthur Aguilar, Brittany Nicole Aguilar, Elizabeth Rose Uribe, nieces and nephews, Dominic Uribe, Autumn (Padraic) Paffen, Erik Uribe, David Uribe, Frankie Arriaga, Fannie (Manny) Garza, Nellie Bello, Annie (Kelley) Pohlemann, Oscar Uribe Jr., Natalie Uribe, Jennifer (Pablo) Fajardo, Denyce (Richard) Uribe, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Uribe Jr., Padraic Paffen, Manny Garza, Anthony Pena, Miguel Angel Garza, Juan Duran and Honorary Pallbearer, Johnny Joe Galan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel on Cheyenne Street with a Prayer Service to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
