

Jose Jacinto De Hoyos Jr., 90, entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2017. He was born in Mercedes, Texas on September 17, 1926.He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lydia Sanchez De Hoyos, his daughter and grandson, Lydia and Tony Flores, his parents, Jose Jacinto and Maria de Jesus De Hoyos, his brother Dan De Hoyos and sisters, Mary Sanchez and Ernestina Perez. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his brother, Lorenzo (Diana) De Hoyos, son, Jose (Jay) Jacinto (Cindy) De Hoyos III, daughters, Irene De Hoyos, Cindy (Randy) Rangel, Sandra (Daniel) Montoya, and Melissa (Jesse) Solis. 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Jose served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Corpus Christi and opened his business of 33 years, J & L Auto Supply and Hardware Store. He was an avid sportsman; hunting, bowling, and golf were his favorite pastimes.
Carrying him to his final resting place will be his grandsons, Jessie Joe Flores, Ryan and Rene Rangel, James and Justin De Hoyos, and Jared Solis. Following his grandsons and in honor of their grandfather are his 3 loving granddaughters, Nicole Morales, Amy Rangel and Kaylee Solis. Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angela Funeral Home 549 Cheyenne St. with a rosary to be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 pm, Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1302 Lantana St. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37 Access Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas. The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers at Westwood Manor for the great care and compassion of Jose during his illness.
