Jose M. De La Rosa

Jose graduated from Foy H. Moody High School in the year 1997. He was married to Valerie Elizalde on December 21, 2010, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jose M. De La Rosa, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family.

Jose was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, proud brother, and the fun-loving Tio who meant so much to his nieces and nephews. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and he created countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

Jose had a passion for life and enjoyed the simple things that brought people together. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan who never missed the opportunity to cheer on his team. He loved firing up the barbecue to cook for family and friends, creating not only delicious meals but unforgettable moments filled with laughter and love. He also treasured taking trips to Coushatta, where he enjoyed relaxing and making memories with those he loved.

One of Jose’s greatest pleasures was attending concerts with his children. Those outings were more than just events- they were treasured moments filled with music, laughter, and lasting memories that his family will carry with them forever.

Jose will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, and his presence brought comfort, joy, and strength to those around him.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lessons he taught and the countless lives he touched.

Jose M. De La Rosa will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, children, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joe R. De La Rosa; paternal grandparents, Isiaias G. De La Rosa and Maria S. De La Rosa; maternal grandparents, Maria Cruz and Pedro Mireles; uncle, Isaias De La Rosa “Booboo”.

Left to cherish his memory are his spouse of 16 years, Valerie Elizalde; mother, Maria M. De La Rosa; children, Desiree De La Rosa (19), Jo’Rey De La Rosa (12), Andrew Ryan De La Rosa (10); siblings, Josie (Frank) Reyes, JoAnn (Eloy) Rodriguez, John (Ruby) De La Rosa.

He will be honored with a visitation at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on August 7, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at the same location on August 7, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3423 Rojo St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on August 8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
