Jose Santos Garcia Mata

Jose married the love of his life, Geneva Trevino, on June 6, 1995 in Corpus Christi Texas. Jose was a hardworking man who labored in landscaping and general construction. When Jose was not hard at work he enjoyed listening to music, his favorite group was, El Tigeres Del Norte, he loved corridos, Chalino Sanchez, dancing and most of all, spending quality time with family and friends, especially at barbecues. You could often find Jose in his garage listening to music or cruising down Shoreline. He also enjoyed watching the Houston Texans play, mostly just to poke fun at his wife every time she yelled, OH FUCK when the other team would score. Jose was a simple man who found joy in small things like taking walks downtown and feeding the seagulls but above all else, taking care of his family.

Preceding Jose in eternal rest are his loving parents; Miguel Garcia and DelFina Mata Garcia.

Left to cherish the beautiful memory of Jose is his devoted wife; Geneva Trevino, children; Jose Santos Garcia Jr., Jesus Garcia, Miguel Angel Garcia, Maria Delfina Camacho, Mark Garcia, stepchildren; Isaac Obregon, Elijah Obregon, Josephine Obregon, Gabriel Obregon, Noah Obregon, siblings; Juan Garcia, Jose Luis Garcia, Miguel Garcia, Jose Cruz Garcia, Irene Trevino, Gloria Estrada, Francisca Garcia, Maria De Jesus Garcia, Jorge Garcia, Jesus Mata, 29 cherished grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous extended friends and family members.

A visitation for Jose will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX 78405.
