Jose (Joey) Valdez – beloved husband, father, papas, brother, nephew, cousin, brother in law, and friend passed away at age 54 on May 21, 2024. Jose has been reunited with his beloved mother, Juanita M. Valdez and father Alberto Valdez.
Jose married the love of his life, Maria Luisa Valdez on May 3rd, 1996. They shared a beautiful life together with their children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by them all.
Jose worked for the City of Corpus Christi, had a catering business, and did many small jobs to provide for his family. He was well known for being a great cook with his specialties being brisket, carne guisada and chicken legs. He enjoyed having family around as much as possible, always ready to Bar-B-Q for them. Like a true Texan he loved to watch America’s team, the Dallas Cowboys and Sundays were his time to shine, being able to cook for his loved ones. He enjoyed listening to all genres of music while being in his garage cooking or working on projects.
Jose was most known for his delicious food, love of football and making everyone laugh.
The very thing he loved the most in life was his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband who showed his wife a love that will surpass this lifetime. He cherished every moment he spent with family and he considered everyone, even friends, as his family. He loved being the best host he could be for them all.
Jose is survived by his wife, Maria L. Valdez; his children, Manuel Luis Mendoza (Nicole), Bianca Ynacia Valdez, Angelica Marie Easterling (Mishael), Rebecca Melinda Valdez; his siblings, brother, Albert Valdez III (Toni), sister Ynacia Valdez, sister Melinda Valdez; his beloved grandchildren, Paul Anthony Ortiz Jr., Ricky Louis Ortiz, and his newest grandson Jose Adan Valdez-Mendoza, whom he didn’t get to meet but already loved very much.
The Family would like to say a special heartfelt Thank You to all the friends and family who have comforted them with their kind words and beautiful memories.
