Joseph Michael Sanchez (Mike), 56, passed away September 12, 2018, in Corpus Christi, TX.

Mike was born on October 23, 1961 to J.B. Sanchez Jr. and Vicki Sanchez. He liked fishing and cooking and always had advice on which spices were better than this one or that one. There was nothing he liked better than a new recipe that he could try and enjoying the "tasties" before it was done. God will keep him and brother J B real busy cooking for mom and dad.

He made his home with his wife Becky and step-children and grandchildren. Mike was born in Laredo, Texas and lived there till the family moved to Brownsville, Texas where he finished his education. After high school, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents (JB and Vicki) and his brother JB Sanchez III.

Surviving family members are his wife Becky and step-children Nicholas Villarreal (Ashly) and Krista Villarreal (Alex) and two grandchildren. He has three sisters, Nina Sanchez Zamora, Peggy Duron (Henry), Gracie Ramirez (Rene) and two brothers, Juan A. Sanchez (Annette) and Jerry Sanchez (Rita). He also had 15 nephews and nieces and 9 great-nephews.

We will all miss him dearly. He was a sweet loving mushy funny guy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

My Uncle Mike was a big part of my life growing up. He was our babysitter when he was needed, he took us fishing with him, and he would laugh and joke around with us all the time. I look back on those days and smile. We'll all miss you, Mungie.

Uncle Mike,
I have countless childhood memories that you were a part of. From me and my siblings pestering you non-stop, to you dodging phone calls for me during my teenage years, to being roommates as adults. I really loved that. I would wake up and my breakfast would be waiting for me every morning. I can still smell it now.
You are what everyone needs in an uncle: sweet, patient, and kind. I know you are cooking for the angels.
You will always be our Funky Uncle Mungie.
Love, Becky

My wonderful husband, marrying you was a gift I will cherish for the rest of my life. You completed me as noone had ever done. They say that time heals all wounds, and while that may be true, it won't fill the void in my heart. One thing does give me a little comfort and that is knowing that we'll be together again. I will love you until my dying breath.
💋❤🌹
Your loving wife,
Becky
