Juan Manuel Tejeda Sr.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our father Juan Manuel Tejeda Sr. in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 18, 2016 at the age of 80. He was born in Corpus Christi, TX on December 26, 1935 to the late Juan Ramon and Nazaria Tejeda. Juan was a loving son, brother, doting husband, amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather and best friend. Juan was a retired barber, avid fisherman and self-made comedian and pool shark. He will be greatly missed.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Alfino Garcia III and his sister, Carmen Cantu. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife Consuelo Tejeda with whom he shared 61 years of marriage with, his nine children who meant everything to him, Gilberto Tejeda (Gloria), Juan M. Tejeda Jr. (Loverrinne), Jose Ramon Tejeda (Rosalinda), Gracie Bevis (Richard), Ismael Tejeda (Rebecca), Velma Gonzalez (Mario), Maria Del Carmen Tejeda-Delgado (Tony), Rosanna Perez (Jacob) and Maricela Charman (Michael); 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
