

Juanita C. Betancourt, 82, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026. Born on January 14, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Juanita lived a life defined by strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family.
At a young age, Juanita left school after completing the ninth grade to help her family by working in the cotton fields alongside her parents. Her hardworking spirit and selflessness became the foundation of the life she built and the example she set for those around her.
Juanita married the love of her life, Samuel P. Betancourt, in Corpus Christi, where together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures. Juanita loved completing crossword puzzles, sewing, and watching her favorite television shows, especially Domingo Live and Johnny Canales. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Family was the center of Juanita's world. She was known for her delicious homemade tortillas and bean tacos, recipes she shared with only a select few family members. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed scary movies, Chicky-fil-A, sweet tea, and taking selfies. Juanita kept herself busy, always finding something to do, and no one ever left her home hungry.
More than anything, Juanita will be remembered for her incredible fighting spirit and the words she lived by: "Don't worry, be strong." Her kindness, determination, generosity, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew her.
Juanita's legacy of strength, perseverance, and love will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411, US, on August 10, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Holy Rosary will follow at Funeraria Del Angel on August 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am, and the Funeral Service will be held there the same day from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St, Corpus Christi, TX 78408, US, on August 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
