Judy Lee Kenneaster passed away on March 21, 2018 at the age of 74. She was born on October 28, 1943 in Beaumont, TX but raised in Mineral Wells, TX and moved to Corpus Christi in 1959. Judy’s mother was a member of the Eastern Star and her father was a Mason so it was fitting that she was a member of the Rainbow Girls. While in school Judy studied music and played the clarinet for 9 years. She went to school at Roy Miller and W.B. Ray. After school she worked at O.J. Beck Construction, Berry Contracts and Coastal States Refinery. In 1974 she coached and was Head Coach of Southside Little Miss Kickball for 10 years. She joined the TX Department of Public Safety in 1980 where she retired after 25 years as a Senior Communications Operator on January 31, 2004. Judy was also a dedicated Elvis and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Dorsey and Mellie Ruth Dearman Dorsey. She is survived by her sister, Connie Dorsey Rivera; daughter, Dorsey (Mark) Shedd; granddaughter, Marki Lee Shedd; niece, Amanda Rivera; best friend of 40 years, Sherry Miller; special friends, Trooper Gary Cornett, Trooper Marcus Ellison; Sr. Communications Officer, Anna Mendez, Susie Garrison and Marietta Koester; her beloved Shih Tzu, Sadie.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Funeral Services to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
