

Julio married the love of his life, Janice L. “Janie” Hernandez, on June 10, 1966, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Julio dedicated his career to equipment operations at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things in life. He had a passion for music and was especially known for playing his bajo/guitar. Music was an important part of who he was, and his playing brought joy to those around him. He also loved working in his garden and took great pride in caring for it.
Julio will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed at family gatherings, backyard barbecues, and on the many travels shared with those he loved. His music, laughter, and presence will forever remain a part of the memories cherished by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Paola Hernandez, and his siblings, Palmira Longoria, Elias Hernandez, and Jose Jr. Hernandez.
Julio is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Janie L. Hernandez; his sister, Maria Garza; sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and dear friends.
The family extends a heartfelt and special thank you to the friends and family and Choice Home Health for their care, kindness, and support.
Julio leaves behind a legacy of love, music, family, and memories that will be treasured forever. Though he is no longer with us, his music will continue to play in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Viewing and Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on September 2, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am, followed by the Holy Rosary at 12:30 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on September 2, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm, with Committal and Interment to follow at 2:00 pm at the same location.
