Kathleen Woods Kimes, age 91, passed away on March 15, 2022. She was born in Phoenixville, PA, daughter of the late Rev. Joseph M. Woods, Jr., and Kathleen Watson Woods. She graduated from Wilson College (B.A. 1952) and Florida Atlantic University (M.Ed. 1968). She was a teacher in Florida public schools before moving to Texas in 1974. She was a member of Parkway Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, TX, several genealogical societies, including Descendants of Signers of the Declaration of Independence and Family of Bruce International. She was an active volunteer with Home Hospice of Grayson County, TX and the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. She is survived by daughter Connie Matthews of State College, PA and her partner Peggy Lorah; stepdaughter, Christine Kimes of Seattle Washington; stepson, Thornton Kimes of San Francisco, CA; brothers Joseph M. Woods III (Sally) of New Holland, PA and William M. Woods (Hanne) of Ferritslev, Denmark; step-grandsons Chris Lorah of Gettysburg, PA, Kyle Sherman and Zachary Sherman of Tacoma, WA; and step-grand-daughter Caitlin Draper of Los Angeles, CA. Her husband Thomas F. Kimes and son Raymond W. Matthews predeceased her.
