Laurence Ashmore, 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026.

Born on August 5, 1949, in Austin, Texas, Laurence built a life centered on family, integrity, and a lifelong passion for the water. On September 29, 1973, he married the love of his life, Jennie Coburn, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together they shared many years of love, friendship, and cherished memories.

Laurence dedicated his career to the boating industry, where he earned the respect and admiration of customers and colleagues alike. Over the years, he worked at Coburn Marine, Gunderland Marine, Ronnie's Marine, and Premier Yamaha Boating Center. He became well known for his honesty in boat sales, his exceptional knowledge, and the trust he built with everyone he served.

Outside of work, Laurence found his greatest joy on the water. He was a proud member of the Ananias Fishing Club and had a true passion for fishing, especially sight-casting for redfish. His remarkable skill and love for the sport earned him the admiration of fellow anglers and friends. Whether spending a quiet day on the bay or sharing stories with those he loved, Laurence treasured every moment outdoors.

Laurence was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Helen Ashmore, and his brother, David Ashmore.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Jennie Ashmore; his sister, Marianne Schmidt (Oron); and numerous cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Laurence will be remembered for his honesty, kind heart, unwavering work ethic, and his unmatched ability to spot redfish on the water. His gentle spirit, friendly smile, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, Laurence's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, the memories shared with family and friends, and the countless sunrises and quiet waters that brought him so much peace. May he rest in eternal peace.
