Leo S. Galindo, 73, of Corpus Christi was called to eternal rest on Friday, July 23, 2021 after a long & courageous battle with cancer. Leo was born November 6, 1947 in Victoria, Texas, to Isidoro and Martina Galindo.
He was a 1967 graduate of Roy Miller H.S. & starting offensive guard for the Mighty Buc Football Team. Leo received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Ed. from Texas A&M University – CC in 1980. He began his teaching career of 31 years in Zapata, TX as a P.E./Football Coach and later retired from CCISD Cunningham Middle School as the Head Football Coach in 2011. Leo had an immense love of the game & for all his student athletes. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph’s Council, and active parishioner of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Leo will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather who had an immense love for the game. He was a great mentor to all his students and athletes.
He is preceded in death by his parents Isidoro & Martina Galindo, and his 5 siblings.
He is survived by his l loving wife of 46 years, Yolanda, and his two daughters Argentina (Oran) Briley, and Adriana Martinez (Hernan Zelaya). Along with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy; Isaac, Abby, Alex, Andy, Allie, Luke, Madi, & Oran, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Funeraria del Angel-Everhart, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, and Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass in his honor will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX, 78415 followed by his intombment at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412.
