

Robert Loren Chanley Sr, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at 7:00 am at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 10, 1929, in Crawford County, Indiana to Charles T. Chanley and Maudie Rhodes. He was a devoted father and husband. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked as meat market manager for local grocery chain for many years. He also worked many odd and end jobs such as shrimping, lawn work, and construction to assure his kids were provided for. His loves in life were his family, gardening, cooking and playing the lottery. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lera Louis Newbaker, sons, Temple Clark Chanley and Robert Loren Chanley Jr., his siblings Nellie M. Chanley Bills, Delbert, Mary k. Summers, Charles K, Herman Harold, Carl Raymond, Gladys Pearl, Alice Imogene, Mona Elizabeth, Chanley Cox, Jesse J. Chanley. Survivors include children, Robert Luke Chanley, Audrey Jean Phelan, Cassandra Jean Kozeski (Keith), April Marie Clark (Bobby) Charles Talbert Chanley (Peter Melve), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Marco Melve-Chanley, Nicanor Melve-Chanley, Trinton Chanley, James McKenzie, Nathan Kozeski and Johnathon Kozeski. Honorary Pallbearers are Keith Kozeski, Bobby Clark and Peter Melve.
Honorary Pallbearer is Ivy Cosby. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Road. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with interment following at Seaside Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Funeral Home.
