Lorenzo C. Herrera Jr., 73, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away May 5, 2021. He was born in Robstown, Texas on February 14, 1948. He attended Robstown High School and received his Industrial Machinist Degree from Del Mar College. Lorenzo later went on to marry Esther Montez Herrera on October 1, 1969.
Lorenzo had a career as a machinist for Quality Machine and Odessa Pumps and retired in the year 2000. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans. Lorenzo had a passion for the Dallas Cowboys, gambling, and family get togethers. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart for his heroic actions.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Herrera Sr. and Maria Luisa Cervantez and his brother, Carlos Herrera.
He leaves his loving memories to his wife, Esther Herrera; three children, Laura (late Pete) Michels, Sandra (Eric) Beardsley, and Tommy (Yvette) Herrera; eight grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Armando Herrera, Fernando Herrera, Ruben Herrera, Irene Herrera, Ofilia Herrera, and Odilia Herrera; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Public Visitation will held at 11:30 am, May 18, 2021 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 12:00 pm with Funeral Service to begin at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
