Loretta M Bishop, age 95, of Corpus Christi, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 14, 2022, after a long illness. She was born on May 30, 1927 in New Baltimore, Michigan to Wilbert and Edmarie Bishop.
Loretta met her loving husband of 70 years while he was stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan. They fell in love and were married on July 5, 1947. Shortly after, he took his bride back to his home town of Corpus Christi, TX, where they reared their three girls, hand in hand through tears and laughter.
In her younger years, Loretta worked for Michigan Bell Telephone and Chris-Craft Boats during the war effort. She ended her working career at Gaddie Cleaners in the Carmel Village after 20 plus years.
Loretta is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil E. Bishop, Jr., her parents Wilbert and Edmire Meldrum, her eight sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her three daughters: Katherine Hatfield, Kay Schuette (Don), and paulette Lewis (Bobby); her sister-in-law Ochelle Baisden. She is also survived by her three granddaughters: Kimberly Smith (Gary), Terrie Wier, and Wendy Karpenski; four great grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two great-great grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter and two great-great-grandsons, one great-great granddaughter; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Loretta was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Funeraria Del Angel-Everhart, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411. Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 followed by Interment at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 2731 Comanche Street, Corpus Christi, TX.
