Lucia Soliz Reyna

It is with great sadness we announce that Lucia S. Reyna, 97, of Corpus Christi passed away on June 14, 2021. She was born in Lockhart, TX on July 23, 1923. She was married to World War II Veteran, Santiago Reyna. It is impossible to sum up a wonderful mother in only a few words, those who knew Lucia knew she loved her family with all her heart. Always at the door waving and waiting for us to drive off. Lucia was a loving mother and a grandmother. She was also a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church for many years. Lucia was a God gifted woman with great wisdom and of great character. She loved all kinds of beautiful flowers; her favorite colors were purple and green. She also did a lot of sewing and crocheting in her younger years. She loved cooking and baking different recipes for all her family. She would contribute and write letters to St. Jude but most of all her passion was spending time with the Lord and her family. We as a family were so blessed to have such a beautiful and strong mother with a caring heart and soul in our lives, we will cherish our memories of her always in our hearts. She will be forever and dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Manuela (Pete) Barrientes, Carmen (Gene) Prado, Jesse (Flora) Reyna, Joe (Hilda) Reyna, Rose (Neri) Garza, Angie (Lupe) Sanchez, Yolanda (Pete) Garza, Santiago Jr. (Sabrina) Reyna, Jane (Rick) Rodriguez, Daniel Reyna and Odie Reyna; 35 Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, 24, 2021 at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
