Lucy Rodriguez Puentes

It is with great sadness that we announce that Lucy Rodriguez Puentes, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on February 15th, 2026, at the age of 91. Lucy was born May 15th, 1934, in Verdi, Texas. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Lucy married the love of her life, Roberto Puentes, on June 29th, 1957, in Sterling, Illinois, where they raised their four daughters. She was our constant guide, a source of comfort, and showed her family unconditional love. She lived an adventurous life and enjoyed many activities, like the sport of archery, hunting and fishing. Lucy was also a homemaker and loved sewing, baking, and gardening. Since she loved to cook, she could make a large family meal in a matter of minutes. No one ever left her house hungry.

These are just a few of the many things we will remember about our beautiful mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Desiderio and Maria Luisa Rodriguez, her husband, her daughters; Patricia Cantu, and Cynthia Garcia, three brothers, four sisters, one grandson, and one great grandson.

She is survived by her daughters, Irene Puentes and Roberta (John) Gonzalez, 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren, and several loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories.

A viewing and visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415, on February 25, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will take place at the same location on February 25, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass is scheduled for February 26, 2026, at 10:00 am at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415. Committal and interment will follow at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery on February 26, 2026, at 11:15 am.
