Luis attended Carroll High School and was employed at Wencar Inc. Luis was described by many as funny, respectful, loyal, genuine, hardworking, and kind. He enjoyed attending his nephew’s football and baseball games and was their #1 fan. He also enjoyed watching his favorite team – the Dallas Cowboys – with his family. Luis loved his family and was loved by all.
Luis is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Guadalupe Hernandez Jr.; paternal great-grandparents, Luis and Isabel Guerra. He is survived by his mother, Judith Marie Hernandez (John Gutierrez); his father, Juan Luis Bernal Sr. (Crystal); sisters, Celine Monique Bernal (Joe-Jacob Castillo), Celeste Allize Bernal, and Cerina Marie Bernal; brothers, Juan Luis Bernal Jr. (Chloe Ramon) and Joshua Luis Bernal; nephews, Joe-Jacob Luis, Jo’vani Luis, and Josias Louis Castillo, Jaxson N. Ramon, Kaiden Luis Hernandez; and his only niece, his princess, Zaileigh Isabel Hernandez; maternal grandmother, Oralia F. Hernandez; paternal grandmother, Rosalia Guerra Shears; numerous maternal uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 9 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with a Holy Rosary to occur that same night at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will occur at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Those with the honor of being a pallbearer are as follows: Juan Luis Bernal Sr., Juan Luis Bernal Jr., Joshua Luis Bernal, Joe-Jacob Castillo, Michael A. Hernandez, Giovanni M. Hernandez, Guadalupe Hernandez IV, and Luis J. Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Luis’ beloved nephews: Joe-Jacob Luis, Jo’vani Luis, and Josias Louis Castillo, and Kaiden Luis Hernandez.
